Ash/Sheila 'ship tribute

About

MOVIE: In "Army of Darkness", Ash and Sheila meet when Ash, having been sucked through a time porthole and deposited in thirteenth century Britain, is taken prisoner by Lord Arthur's men, presumed to be a member of Duke Henry of Shale's Army. Sheila is led to believe that Ash killed her brother in combat and thus thirsts for his blood, eventually tossing a rock that knocks him into a pit filled with Deadites. Ash battles his way free, earning Sheila's admiration. She appologizes for her agression verbally - then after Ash saves her from a posessed woman, by sewing him an outfit. He rejects it, informing her he's planning on using the outfit and cape for a horse blanket. Sheila smacks Ash across the face, he gives chase, and they end up in a clinch.

Ash journeys through the woods to retrieve the Necronomicon from a graveyard - he eventually splits into two beings - one evil, one good - after being forced to swallow tiny versions of himself which sprout up from a shattered mirror. Required to say three words before taking posession of the book, Ash bungles the final word and unleashes an army of undead soldiers upon Arthur's kingdom. When Sheila expresses her faith in his ability to save them, he informs her that he's planning on leaving the century as quickly as possible, dismissing their intimacy as "pillow talk." She vehemently tells him that she still has faith in him but, noticing his fear, huffily calls him a coward and turns to leave.

Sheila is then kidnapped by a flying deadite, and taken to the Evil Ash, who assaults her and transforms Sheila into a deadite.

In the ensuing battle, Ash ends up heaving Sheila over the side of a battlement wall - and after he defeats his evil copy, she reverts to her living form. Though they embrace and kiss warmly after the battle, Ash ultimately leaves Sheila behind in the thirteen hundreds to return to modern-day America.

COMICS: In the Dynamite Comics series "Army of Darkness", Sheila ends up following Ash to the modern era, where she takes a job working in the toiletries section at the S-Mart. Ash eventually confesses his love, and the twosome are repeatedly sepparated by the cruelties of fate and death itself. Sheila is briefly transformed back into her Deadite form while under the influence of Ash's evil twin, Ash Prime. Though Ash Prime temporarily killed Ash, he returned to the living world and Sheila returned to her normal form.

In the current storyarch (Hellbillies and Deadnecks), Ash has returned Sheila to the 1300's, where (so he thinks) she'll be safer while he disposes of the Necronomicon for once and for all.

Why I 'Ship It: At the spirit? These two are utterly evenly mattched combatants. Sheila doesn't let Ash steamroll her, and Ash doesn't let Sheila push him around. The sexual chemistry's off-the-charts, to boot.

Quotes:

From Army of Darkness:

Sheila: I pray thee'd forgive me, milord. I thought thee one of Henry's men.
Ash: First you wanna kill me, then you wanna kiss me. (Spits grape seeds onto the floor) Blow."

Sheila: All of my hopes and prayers go with thee...and I made ye this (shows him the shirt she's made for him)
Ash: Good, I could use a horse blanket.

Ash (To Sheila): Gimmie some sugar, baby.

Sheila: But what of all we shared? What of the sweet words ye spoke in private?
Ash: Oh well, that's just what we call pillow talk, baby. That's all.
Sheila: It was more than that! I still have faith in thee. I still believe thou would save us...I...(notices expression on Ash's face, and turns, deeply upset and whispers) coward!

Evil Sheila: You found me beautiful once...
Ash: Honey, you got REAL ugly.
