There were eggs on the table and tea on the stove; coffee for Laverne, and some warm bran brack coming straight from the heart and soul of the machine.

Laverne is pleased with who they've become, what they've become. Three girls from the wrong side of the tracks, friends for life, no matter how much Rosie got on her nerves.

And sure, Rosie got on her nerves (she still hasn't forgiven her for that 'banana nose' crack she made in front of that golf pro) a bit (a lot) (most of the time). In any event, they're still good friends, the very best of friends, the kind of friends you never have to question.

Unless she dunks her face-first in the punch. Then all bets are off.
